Brendon McCullum has accomplished a lot in his short time as captain. Shaping, leading, and having the ability to transform from a team greater than the sum of its parts. A trait all leaders have.
Is this something you take into consideration with your next employer? Someone who shares these attributes. For me its all about shaping, developing and mentoring your employees similar to how McCullum has but also gaining their respect in the process. This allows employees to reach those audacious career goals they have set for themselves and hopefully one day passing it down the line some day.
Next time you look at moving into a new role, organisation, or team - look at your leader. Does he have the qualities to inspire, lead, and ultimately make you a better individual.
McCullum has finished his 101st and final test on a losing note, but told the assembled crowd they were in his thoughts. McCullum admitted there have been good and bad days. ''We've achieved some pretty cool things, and we've lost some games as well. But you are absolutely great men and for the rest of my life I'll remember the times and experiences we've had." McCullum gave the new leader, Kane Williamson, and the senior players an endorsement too. ''I know the group taking the team forward have some fine leaders amongst you and I firmly believe this team will go to a new level."
