Yes good contractors are still in demand but I don't think the NZ market has wrapped it's head around the utilisation of a remote workforce. It seems as though start-ups are more inclined to use this global workforce on offer, but the larger Tier 1 & 2 companies seem set on hiring local contracting talent.
In a world where we have access to the best talent on the global market, why is it that we are reluctant to access this talent. We have seen a large number of successful organiations utilise the remote freelancer. What is holding back the NZ mindset in utilising these resource in such a competitive talent market.
"The changing needs of today's workers, the war for talent and the globalization of the workforce are just a few reasons that today's technology is evolving so rapidly. All of these forces are driving workforce management to the top of the business agenda, especially as talent becomes a true differentiator for organizations," says Arun Srinivasan, senior vice president of Strategy and Customer Operations of SAP Fieldglass.
